Stubbs is both a gorgeous and talented terrier. He is a low
key guy who loves to hang out until something interesting piques his
interest. Stubbs is co-owned with Deanna Briggs and resides most of
the year in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. There he has become familiar with
the local wildlife including the many moose who regularly visit
their mountain home.
Stubbie's structure and excellent coat have driven his very successful
career in the show ring beginning with his puppy year earning many Best and Reserve wins to his credit. He ended
his puppy year by taking Reserve Best Dog Pup at the 2001 National
Trial. Since then, he has continued his winning ways in both
conformation and lure coursing. However, Stubbie's first love is
definitely the hunt field. He has an excellent nose and was the only
terrier out of 4 on the ground (some VERY experienced) who knew there was more quarry in a
hole where we had just removed a ground hog. We ignored him for
several minutes as we thought he was just interested in the latent
scent of the hole. But no! There was another hog in there and he had
it cornered. In fact, it was digging its way to the surface. Good
job Stubbie!
Stubbie and Farmstead Hannah, his JRT housemate, are also proud
owners of their two human babies who have joined their family in the
past two years. Both
dogs are great with their babies are are excellent examples of the
great temperaments and livability Jack Russell Terriers should have.
